Screenshot from my computer of StormLab radar image during April 3, 2012 DFW outbreak. Two supercells with hook echoes move through the area…
There is a wealth of information available online if one knows where to look. Here are the storm rotation tracks for April 27, 2011…one of the worst tornado outbreaks in U.S. history.
Situation Map of 2012 Kansas Tornado Outbreak I worked on as part of the Red Cross Virtual Disaster Assessment Team
Street in Jackson MS, not far from DRO HQ. This street was hit by tornado about 10 days before the April 27 outbreak.
Here is a Google Earth screenshot showing an overlay of USACE flood projection. Used this during April/May deployment 2011. Very useful when planning for a flood. Incoming DA Manager preferred wall maps. He wanted to have a street level wall map of the potential affected area. Eventually it dawned on him (slowly) such a map would be the size of a gymnasium floor…..by that time my flight home was already booked.
Here is me hard at work doing damage assessment on a St Pete Fl. beach…..following outprocessing on TS Debby I spent a couple of days with friends who live there.
